What Is Yoga Teacher Mentoring?

Mentoring provides support, further training and much more as you refine your yoga career. This is an incredible opportunity designed to give you the support and extra tutoring to help you increase your teaching capabilities as well as help you fill in any gaps you may have in regards to your journey towards becoming a successful yoga teacher.

A mentor can give you the insight and can help you find your path in the yoga world. Some of the benefits of having a mentor can be: Insight into the industry, knowledge and contacts, business and life skills, wisdom and learning from past experiences, feedback, development and a constructive and unbiased sounding board. A mentor can help you make the steps or changes needed for you to be the best yoga teacher you can be.

Allie Hill

The founder of yogahaven, Director of the 200 hour yoga teacher training course and a passionate yoga teacher since 2001. Allie is known for her down to earth attitude, her classes are fun and upbeat. She teaches with authenticity, believing the best teachers are just being themselves. Her skills are in Sequencing, Assists, Setting a theme, plus obvious business experience!

Adam Husler

Adam is a 500RYT teacher with a passion in anatomy and this is why he teaches Alignment Based Vinyasa Yoga. At present he is studying under Jason Crandell to advance his knowledge in anatomy. He has also had the pleasure of studying intensively under Budokon Yoga Founder Cameron Shayne and renowned meditation teacher Michael Stone, both of whom have hugely inspired his current teaching method.

Elodie Frati

Her interest lies in intelligent movement, breath and body mechanics to make the practice lighter, more assertive, stronger within its softness. Elodie’s expertise is in intelligent sequencing and understanding the mechanics of asana, inversion and arm balancing practice, finding your teaching voice, strength and mobility training, assists (adjustments), tailoring classes for one to one, applying breath and anatomy to motion, marketing.

Laurent Roure

Laurent Roure

Laurent’s style is primarily based on traditional Hatha yoga. The main elements of his style is to bring more awareness to the body, the breath, the mind through techniques coming from Vanda Scaravelli inspired yoga but also from more traditional styles like Satyananda or Gitananda yoga. His expertise lies in anatomy, pranayama, meditation and relaxation techniques. Also a specialist in yoga and mindfulness for children.

Fun fact:

He has changed careers 3 times - chef pâtissier in the 80’s, fashion shop owner and Dj in the 90’s and now a yoga teacher for life!

Prue Greentree

Prue has a strong attention to detail when it comes to the alignment of the body in asanas, she is a hands on yoga teacher who takes you deeper into your practice whilst teaching with a sense of humour. Her classes are a combination of traditional yogic principals, yoga philosophy and passion.

Stewart Heffernan

Within the Asana practice,Stew like to incorporate yogic philosophy in an accessible and light hearted approach, hands on assists, and a focus on alignment.

He has a strong interest in Yoga Philosophy/Theory, Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, Subtle Body, Creative and Intelligent Sequencing and Hands-on Assists.

Fun fact:

He ran my first 'Ultra' Marathon in The Dolomites in June 2016 - 57km in 11 hours, 59 min! He loves Greece, planes, dogs, Adventure Holidays and his Harmonium.

Tess Mabbitt

Tess’ style is usually quite strong with a focus on breath, especially Ujiee. You’ll often hear her encouraging the hissing sound (picked up from her Guruji in India)

Her expertise is voice projection and class persona. Ashtanga adjustments, some marketing (only as far as FB and Instagram) and how to be true to yourself and find your own style.

Fun Fact - (Or biggest regret) She once taught Colin Farrell in a vinyasa class, after the class he offered to buy her a juice and for some reason she said “no thank you I’m not thristy!”.

Join yoga haven's 12-week Graduate Teacher Mentoring Programme

yogahaven’s Graduate Teacher Mentoring programme is a specialised 12-week programme for those having qualified from the 200 hour yogahaven Teacher Training. This 12-week programme provides further training to support you on your way to becoming a successful yoga teacher. It also provides those already regularly teaching to devote time and hone in on skills they feel they may need to become and even more accomplished teacher. Our 12-week programme aims to give you the tools to help you increase your confidence, knowledge, direction, develop your business skills and much more.

Programme Overview

Your mentor programme will be taught by a yogahaven mentor of your choice (once mutual consent is agreed). You and your mentor will determine your programme choosing the area or areas you want to focus on during the 12-weeks. Areas you may wish to concentrate on during your 12-week programme are:

# Teaching skills – holding a room’s attention, Voice projection etc.

# Sequencing

# Hands-on- assists

# Social media presence

# Marketing yourself

# Setting up your business (Tax, invoicing etc…)

# Yoga studies (history and theory)

# Dealing with injuries and illnesses safely in a general class
